This is a solution to 5.1 sound in Windows Vista if you have old SB Live! sound card from previous version of windows OS.
- Download XP driver for the card from official website. The file name is LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe dated 28 Feb 03 and 23.32Mb in total.
- Use WinRAR to extract the downloaded file to any folder. Do no double-click to run because it won’t work.
- Go to Device Manager in Vista -> Update Driver Software for your card. Select “Browse my computer for driver software” and then browse to this location \LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG)\Audio\Drivers. It should recognize your card without a hitch. Now you only have basic stereo sound.
- Next step is to download newest version of Kx project audio drivers at http://download.kxproject.lugosoft.com/downloads/kxdrv3538m-full.exe and install. And then just follow the prompt installation gives you. Reboot system once completely done with installation.
- Now you have Kx Manager in the taskbar. Open it up and select “Speaker Setup” and set “Speaker Mode” as 5.1
- Voila… Enjoy!

After trying to install various linux distros from Fedora to Mandrake, I think I’ll stick with RedHat because it’s very easy to install and configure almost like Windows. I am trying to put together successful how-to do it with Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS. Here’s my first screen shot of the Red Hat dual-boot with Windows XP
Doesn’t this video make you go out and buy yourself a nice R/C off-road truck? Just kidding…. You need to press “PLAY” button to start the movie if you’re using IE but I think Firefox will play it automatically.

Inspried by a thread on Reef Central, I want to try out this DIY MaxiJet modification. It’s very easy considering you have all the tools to work with. The good thing about this mod is that you can actually change it back to original state of MJ powerhead if something is wrong or broken. The bad thing about this mod is that sometimes the prop. turn the wrong way. I just have to unplug and plug it back until I have the right direction. Some people can actually overcome this situation.
Part list:
- 3/32 S.S. rod (from hobby store or metal supermarket)
- 3/32 titanium rod (if you’d ‘be able to find one)
- silicone airline tubing (very small for coupling)
- rigid tube
- 1.5″ PVC/ABS pipe
- 1.5″ PVC/ABS cap
- all plastic boat propeller (from hobby store or Radioshack)

Update: when I put it in my 90G tank this blows too much and I am not really ready for it yet. I am gonna use this mod once I set up another new 120G tank in the future.
I have been using FireFox browser quite a time now and I gotta tell you that I so much like this browser. The ability to use Adblock and other quite useful extensions such as ForecastFox amazes me the most. Once you felt in love with this browser, you would never want to go back with Internet Explorer.
Another plus point for this browser is the ability to utilize themes. Though I am not much of a theme-savvy guy, I must say there are lots of nice looking themes out there that fit your need. Most popular Firefox themes
The most important of Firefox features is that this browser can be highly customized to the way you want it to be from changing the size font of broswer menu to the way the browser reacts and opereates. Visit Firefox Help: Tips & Tricks section and see it for yourself.
I still use both IE and Firefox for the time being. Firefox is mainly for the web browsing and searching while Internet Explorer is for testing my developed web pages. It was the other way around before I discoverd Firefox. Just don’t take my word for this browser, take eveyone’s word who has felt in love with this browser. If you’re using Firefox right now and haven’t discovered its great ability compared to IE, your first good start would be community forum for Firefox browser.
I was looking into couple of commercial calcium reactors but then later decided to go with DIY one. It saves me around 100 bucks and gives me a nice size calcium reactor. After a week in service it raises my KH level from 8 dKH to 11 dKH which really makes me happy already. I fill it with 16 lbs of A.R.M reactor media but still find out that it’s not enough. It would at least contain 20 lbs. The reactor is powered by Mag-Drive 5 Utility pump

I also bought 15 pound CO2 cylinder for the reactor and I know it’s gonna last at least a year. To control CO2 injection rate, I decided to get Milwakee MA975 CO2 regulator despite the fact that so many have problem with it controlling bubble rate. I guess it’s because the operating pressure is set too low. I set mine at about 20 psi.
In about couple weeks, all free Yahoo! Mail users will be automatically upgraded to 1G email storage. That’s good news since I have Yahoo! account as well. I knew this was gonna happen when Google was in beta phase offering 1G email storage acouple months ago. What I didn’t like about Google was that you have to have invitation in order to set up an account. That’s insane to go through some invitations from friends and friends. This is gonna blow Hotmail users away with this 1G storage at Yahoo! Mail. Besides, I must say Yahoo! Mail has been the best free online mail since the beginning.
I couldn’t understand why I can’t load any PS2 disc. It doesn’t matter what kind of disc (original or copy) I put into my console, all I got is broswer screen. I decided to open her up to see what’s going on with my version 6 PS2 since I was thinking that my mod-chip is probably fried. Everything looked OK, no burnt evidence or any kind. I wonder what the hell happen to my PS2 that I can’t even play original disc as well as copy disc.
After few hours of online searching vast resources about mod-chip. It came down to one simple solution that has nothing to do with mod-chip. It’s about the laser eye getting dirty and needing some clean-up. It’s an old PS2 for christ sake so pretty much the problem is the eye.
After cleaning the laser eye with some alcohol, my PS2 now plays like new. Happy me.
I just purchased a new camera Kodak DX7590 yesterday so I wanted to test out the quality and of course some of the features it offers. The quality is not so bad to my standard but in fact amazing I must say. I filmed my baby shower so his grand-parents who live so far away can view him.
Here’s a link to some videos of my baby boy: Huy Videos
